Founded in 1952, the Washington Art Association & Gallery is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching our community through education, exhibitions, and special events.
Located in the scenic Litchfield Hills of Northwest Connecticut, WAA has hosted over 500 exhibitions showcasing both emerging and established artists. WAA features ten exhibitions a year. Student, faculty and member artists are invited to participate in annual exhibitions
WAA offers fifteen classes a year in painting, ceramics, drawing, sculpture, and printmaking on a semester basis. Two open studios in life drawing and workshops are also offered throughout the year and a diverse selection of classes and workshops is taught by distinguished faculty.
Throughout the year, WAA offers Special Community Events including the annual Summer Solstice Festival, WAA OFFSITE which features artworks at other venues in the area, the annual Art Patron's Party, a Harvest Barn Party, and the month-long Holiday Gift Show in December.
New programs for 2017 include a film and distinguished speakers series.
This year we have completed Phase I of our capital improvements and will soon begin the proposed next phase of upgrading and adding to our 65-year-old landmark building. Your generous support of WAA makes it possible for us to continue to offer innovative exhibitions, education, and events.
