Beginning & Intermediate Ceramics with Pam Church

Beginning & Intermediate Ceramics with Pam Church
All levels of experience in clay are welcome as the class will be tailored to meet the goals and skill levels of all students. Both hand building and wheel techniques will be covered as potters explore the creative process from the initial spark of inspiration to the final product. Sketching out the design, feeling each curve in a piece, then moving to the wheel to create the final form are parts of the process that will be discussed and demonstrated.

Beginners will learn all the skills necessary to create beautiful cups and bowls. More experienced potters will be encouraged to stretch their talent in creating new, duplicate and more complex forms. Glazing techniques will be discussed and experimentation with scraffito, slip trailing, pouring and other skills will be encouraged.

The instructor encourages each student to come to the first class with a specific goal(s) in mind and will work with each student to meet those goals.
