Drawing: Beginning in Pen & Ink with April Flaherty

Drawing: Beginning in Pen & Ink with April Flaherty
In this eight-week class, learn the basic exercises required in ink drawing. We will begin and practice with preliminary basic pen exercises such as line, stipple and crosshatch, and then tone will be introduced and basic geometric shapes will be used to create value studies. We will experiment with crowquill pens, Micron pens and brushes. We will progress to contour drawings of different objects as well as sketching fast and loose while exploring and experimenting with different techniques and strokes to find a style of your own. With ink, lines become all-important, and can help your ability to see, and thus to become a better draftsperson.

This class will be offered again in the spring semester
