Printmaking: Monotype Printmaking with Debra Losada

Printmaking: Monotype Printmaking with Debra Losada
Explore the rich variety of monotype printing, beginning with the three basic techniques of monotype: Additive (working into a light field) Subtractive (working into a dark field) and the third basic technique which combines both Additive and Subtractive. From this foundation we will experiment with the painterly print, relief printing, color laying, collograph, collage, chine colle, intaglio without a press, and intaglio in combination with monotype, frottage, and transfer images. We will also be hand printing with a limited opportunity to use a small press. This class is open to adults of all levels of experience. A materials fee of $25 will cover the cost of all inks, rollers, and plates. Students may provide their own paper or buy it from Debra.
