Painting: Fundamentals of Realism with Edward Spaulding DeVoe

Painting: Fundamentals of Realism with Edward Spaulding DeVoe
For beginning, intermediate and advanced levels, this class builds student s skills by helping them see what they are trying to paint and then match that with techniques that have been used by artists for centuries. Students learn to draw, sketch in oil or pastel and build beautiful paintings. We will study how to paint light infused with color and atmosphere, and how to build reality from the abstract. Demonstrations, critiques, and discussions in a spirit of collaboration between teacher and student create a rich environment for development. This class unlocks the mystery that makes painting art and takes overworked out of the process of painting.
