Working from life is the preferred way of doing portraits, but is not always possible. Posthumous, surprise, and portraits of children most often rely on photographs. This workshop will discuss how to choose a photo, and how to work with multiple photos to get a likeness.
Students will experience lecture and demonstrations in the morning, and hands on studio time, portrait painting in oils from their own photos in the afternoon.
This is an oil portrait from photos class. Only oil paints will be used.
Note: If bringing in partially completed work from photo please bring along the photograph you ve been working from.
